Churches & Pilgrimage Sites

Trier is a bishop's seat and has been a center of Christianity since the 4th century. The cathedral keeps the Heiliger Rock (Holy Robe), the Basilica of St. Matthias holds the only apostle's grave north of the Alps, St. Paulin is Balthasar Neumann rococo at its finest, and the Konstantinbasilika (Basilica of Constantine) now serves as the main Protestant church.
